To check out a gadget, you'll need to have a library card that is registered at the Carmel Clay Public Library and that is in good standing.
How many gadgets may I borrow at a time?
Four gadgets may be checked out to a library card at any given time.

Each gadget may be checked out for one week and may not be renewed. Holds may be placed on gadgets through the online catalog.
When checking out the telescope, you will need to sign a waiver.
Gadgets are intended for at-home use. Please wait until after you check the item out and get it home to unbox and use it.
Where do I find the Gadget collection at the library?
Gadgets are located on the second floor of the Main Library. You can also search our catalog and place holds.
Do you have a gadget on hold that's ready to be picked up? Most gadget holds can be found on the usual Holds shelves on the first floor of the Main Library. Larger items like the telescope need to be picked up at the 2nd-floor Adult Services Desk at the Main Library. Please note that gadgets cannot be picked up from the West Branch or the Holds Pickup Locker.
Where do I return a gadget?
Please return your gadget to any staff desk at either the Main Library or the West Branch. Do not return gadgets in the book return slots or through the automated materials return.
Please allow up to three days for the return to be processed and removed from your account.
What if I damage a gadget I checked out?
If a gadget is damaged during your check-out period or is returned with broken or missing pieces, you will be charged a replacement fee for the item after check-in.
